Sprinkles Crusted Valentine Heart Cookies/ Eggless Heart Shaped Butter Cookies

Am sure most of us are getting for the V day, fortunately this year Valentine's day fall on Sunday, obviously am sure this day is going to be super special for few of us. Though for me everyday is valentine's day, i dont wait or ask for anything special from my better half. This is how we celebrate our V day, by the way if you are searching for an irresistible, buttery and dangerously addictive heart shaped cookies to munch with your cup of coffee or tea for this year's valentine's day brunch, dont forget to give a look to this recipe. If you are searching for a last minute baked goodies to bake or pack for this beautiful day, just bake this sugary buttery cookies. Am sure this cookies will suits prefectly to decorate your dinner table during this V day as well. Just with simple ingredients and with simple shaping and baking you can simply bake out this cuties easily. Very attractive butter cookies which is definitely egg free as butter plays an important role in this cookies. 1cup Butter (softened)
1/2cup Confectioner's sugar
1/2tsp Vanilla extract
2+1/2cups All purpose flour
1/4tsp Salt
Red food colouring
Colour sprinkles (as per need)

Combine the butter,sugar,vanilla extract in a bowl and beat it until they turns soft and fluffy.

Sieve together the flour and salt.

Gradually add the flour mixture and turn everything as a soft dough.

Divide the dough into two equal balls, add the red colour to a dough.

Wrap those two balls separately and keep in fridge for 30minutes.

Line the baking sheet onto a baking tray.


Remove the dough from the refrigerator, roll the red coloured dough as thick disc, with a heart shaped cookie cutter, cut the dough as hearts.

Stack the hearts one by one, now roll the uncoloured dough as medium sized disc, place the stacked hearts in the centre of the disc and wrap it.

Slightly roll it and place the  sprinkles on a large platter or in a baking sheet and roll the dough log in the sprinkles, lightly pressing them into the sides of the dough.

Wrap the logs in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least one hour before baking.

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Remove dough from refrigerator. Use a sharp knife to slice log as thin slices.

Place them on baking sheet. Bake for 10-15 minutes. Cool on a wire rack.

Conserve them in an air tightened box.
